About The Position
As a Cashier/Checker at Food 4 Less, you will play a crucial role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Your primary responsibility will be to process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane. You will be the face of the store, actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers to ensure they feel welcome, important, and appreciated. This position requires a strong commitment to the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others. In addition to processing transactions, you will need to understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, and government assistance programs like SNAP EBT. You will also be responsible for adhering to company policies regarding cash handling, restricted sale items, and reporting any pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator. Your role will also involve staying current with seasonal and special ads, as well as following all food safety regulations and guidelines. You will be expected to reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying any unsafe conditions or accidents, promptly notifying store management. Preventive maintenance is also part of your duties, which includes inspecting equipment and reporting any items in need of repair.
