Requirements

• Understanding of cash handling policies and loss prevention measures.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws regarding sales.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
• Understand and handle various payment methods including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, and others according to company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages to control loss.
• Understand guidelines on restricted sale items such as Alcohol and Tobacco.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents to management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report any issues to the appropriate department.
