About The Position

As a Cashier at Meijer, you will be responsible for crafting quality customer experiences by providing efficient and effective customer service in the checkout lane, aiming to create a positive and lasting impact on Meijer customers. This role involves utilizing technology to complete activities and tasks, handling transactions, managing money responsibly, and maintaining accuracy of point of sale purchases. You are expected to display a friendly and outgoing attitude, use good eye contact and body language, and be prepared to handle customer questions appropriately to build trustful relationships and encourage return visits. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually.
  • Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
  • Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Desire to work with customers.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Friendly outgoing attitude.
  • Ability to operate cashier register system.
  • Candidate must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Candidate must be available to work until closing at midnight each shift.

  • Previous retail or customer experience preferred but not required.
