Turner’s Outdoorsman is looking for a CASHIER to process all store transactions with customers accurately and efficiently using a cash register. Our Cashier is responsible for operating a cash register, processing customer sales by scanning items, collecting payment, processing returns, providing change, bagging purchases, cross-sell and introduce new products, addressing basic inquiries at the checkout counter, and ensuring accurate transactions while delivering friendly customer service. JOB DESCRIPTION: Welcome customers entering or leaving the store, answer their questions, help them locate items, and provide recommendations. Provide a positive customer experience with friendly, courteous service. Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns and managing customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Prove a receipt to every customer. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing cash counter, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring product areas meet merchandising standards. Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items, such as guns or ammo. Collaborate with fellow team members to achieve sales targets, meet store and individual sales goals and contribute to a positive team environment. Cross-sell and introduce new products. Understand and actively participate in the promotion of current sales, promotions, and programs to enhance the customer experience and drive sales Answer customer inquiries regarding products, store policies, and services, providing knowledgeable and helpful responses to enhance satisfaction. Creates customer orders. Complete all necessary firearms paperwork in compliance with legal requirements. Maintain a constant awareness of firearm safety. Support loss prevention efforts by monitoring the sales floor, report suspicious activity, and follow security policies Assist management with handle loading and unloading of trucks and stock merchandise deliveries. May fill customer fishing reels using special machines and knot-tying techniques. Assist in inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, conducting stock counts, and reporting low stock or product discrepancies to management. Attend training seminars, including those held off-site. Perform additional duties as assigned.
