About The Position

SA Recycling is looking for an energetic and highly organized individual to join our team as a Cashier. The Cashier plays an important customer service role within the yard by providing timely, friendly, accurate and safe services to our customers. The Cashier is responsible for processing payments and completing the required paperwork for our individual as well as commercial customers. The Cashier will also perform basic office duties as needed. Must pass background and credit check for this role. Hours: Monday- Friday 7:45am to 4:30pm with seasonal Saturdays 8:00am to 11:30am.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
• Must pass a Credit Check
• Must pass a Background
• Must complete a preemployment physical
• Must pass a drug screen
• Experience with outstanding customer service and cash handling

Responsibilities

• Complete all required records and documentation for payment of purchased scrap metal into the proper systems.
• Calculate daily transactions using computerized programs and balance ATM at the end of the day.
• Generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets noting materials and amounts due, verify weights, prices, and extensions.
• Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials, the types of materials accepted, and maintenance of customer accounts.
• Provide relief and/or backup duties to the Office Manager.
• Assists with monthly closing reporting, and with inventory reconciliation as needed.
