About The Position

Reporting to the Cash Operations Co-Managers, and taking direction from the Cashier/Cook, the Cashier is responsible for the preparation and selling of food and beverage items at the Greer Store and Louis Café.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3-12 months experience in food service, food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices in a commercial kitchen.
  • Knowledge of cash register operation and basic cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to understand hazards and follow safety procedures when using chemicals and equipment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests in the Greer Store and/or Café.
  • Operate a computerized POS system, ensuring proper handling of cash, credit and student OneCards. Accurately balance cash drawer at end of each shift.
  • Prepare beverages including espresso drinks and smoothies.
  • Under supervision, operate commercial kitchen equipment, including espresso machines and soft-serve dispensers.
  • Properly and thoroughly clean machines as requested.
  • Maintain the counter and dining area in a neat, clean, and sanitary manner.
  • Assist with restocking shelves or inventory as requested.
  • Ability to assist with light food preparation, as requested
  • Adhere to food safety standards at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
