About The Position

Reporting to the Cash Operations Co-Managers, and taking direction from the Cashier/Cook, the Cashier is responsible for the preparation and selling of food and beverage items at the Greer Store and Louis Café.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred
3-12 months experience in food service, food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices in a commercial kitchen.
Knowledge of cash register operation and basic cash handling procedures.
Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to understand hazards and follow safety procedures when using chemicals and equipment.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to all guests in the Greer Store and/or Café.
Operate a computerized POS system, ensuring proper handling of cash, credit and student OneCards. Accurately balance cash drawer at end of each shift.
Prepare beverages including espresso drinks and smoothies.
Under supervision, operate commercial kitchen equipment, including espresso machines and soft-serve dispensers.
Properly and thoroughly clean machines as requested.
Maintain the counter and dining area in a neat, clean, and sanitary manner.
Assist with restocking shelves or inventory as requested.
Ability to assist with light food preparation, as requested
Adhere to food safety standards at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
