Cashiers at Three Bears Alaska greet customers, answer questions, thank customers, and provide prompt and courteous service. This role involves ringing up customers, receiving payment for goods, monitoring all merchandise passing through the register line, and maintaining the cleanliness of their area. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, answer questions, thank customers and provide prompt and courteous service.
  • Ring up customers.
  • Receive payment for goods.
  • Monitor all merchandise passing through the register line.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of their area.
  • Scan orders by sliding items from conveyor belt and across tabletop scanner from left or right, depending on register setup, to the packaging area.
  • Use hand-held scanning gun or keys item numbers when necessary.
  • Transfer or ensure transfer of each item as number is scanned.
  • Monitor all merchandise passing through register line, promoting accurate merchandise inventory.
  • Request supervisor verification for high-ticket items.
  • Assist with transferring merchandise in carts and packaging orders, following all safety and security procedures.
  • Receive accurate payment for goods, make change, process checks, EBT, credit and debit charges according to proper departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties.
  • Count register at sign on, order change, make witnessed drops of excess funds to vault, order cash increases, and count register at shift end to maintain accurate register funds.
  • Perform related tasks, set-up and closing duties for department, such as putting returned or moved product back, collecting paperwork, stocking register, cleaning area, and retrieving carts.
  • Fill propane tanks for customers.
  • Ensure all current safety guidelines are followed when conducting propane operations.
