CASHIER Reports to: Store Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY The Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. Successful cashiers have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate, and are available to work evening and weekend shifts. Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will maximize customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Process customer purchase transactions using point-of-sale systems Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate Collect proper forms of payment and provide change accurately to maintain a balanced drawer Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets Redeem stamps and coupons Bag customer purchases Cross-sell products and introduce new ones Perform open and closing duties as needed Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information Greet customers when entering or leaving the store Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas Assist with duties in other areas of the store when needed Handle merchandise returns and exchanges Perform all other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
