Bag groceries and ask customers if they need any further assistance.
End the customer transaction with a pleasant farewell such as “thank you for shopping at Outpost” or “have a nice day.”
Call for back up on registers when needed.
Become familiar with co-op policies and products in order to answer customer questions. Refer unresolved questions or problems to front end manager, supervisory staff, or customer service.
Be familiar with Outpost’s owner policy to answer owner related questions. Refer customers interested in joining the co-op to the customer service desk.
Follow proper procedures in balancing cash drawer at end of shift.
Follow security procedures in handling drawers, pick-ups, potential shoplifters, and quick change artists.
Maintain front end area in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.
Clean register and put shop backs away at end of shift.
Advise front end manager of equipment/ replacement needs.
During slow times, take initiative to stock items or ask for assignments from the front end manager or supervisory staff.
Attend department meetings as scheduled.
Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.
Keep store/office orderly and clean.

Perform all other duties as assigned by department manager or supervisory staff.
