About The Position

The Cashier position involves precisely and accurately handling various forms of payment, including money, checks, and other payment types for products sold. Responsibilities also include processing refunds and issuing in-store merchandise credit for returned items, performing credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, personal check acceptance, and vendor check-in transactions in adherence to company standards and policies. The role requires verifying the accuracy of the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift and promptly reporting any inaccuracies to the manager on duty. Additionally, the cashier is expected to be knowledgeable about and actively participate in all sales promotions and campaigns.

Requirements

• Exceptional customer service & the ability to help maintain a customer focused culture.
• Ability to use a cash register (point of sale or POS system), computer, telephone, and other equipment as needed.
• A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to manage multiple, diverse projects and workload with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, consistently delivering the highest quality work.
• Able to confidently make decisions and maintain confidential information.

Nice To Haves

• Cashier experience in a similar position or proficiency in a similar task preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Precisely and accurately handle money, checks, and other types of payment received for products sold including processing refunds and/or issuing in store merchandise credit to customers for returned merchandise.
• Perform credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, personal check acceptance, vendor check-in transactions in accordance with company standards and policies and practices.
• Verify the accuracy of the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, and immediately notify your manager on duty of any inaccuracies.
• Be knowledgeable and actively participate in all sales promotions and other campaigns.
• Other duties as assigned.
