About The Position

Now Hiring: CASHIER Under New Management, KG Mowers & Tractors is looking for a detail-oriented Front Counter Cashier to be the face of our showroom. You’ll be the bridge between our customers and the parts for their equipment to keep their lawns looking sharp. What You’ll Be Doing The Customer Connection: Greet everyone who walks in with a smile. Whether they are a first-time homeowner or a professional landscaper, you’re here to help. Parts Detective: Use our digital catalogs to look up specific parts for mowers, tractors, and handheld equipment. You’ll need to be precise—the difference between a 42-inch and a 48-inch belt matters! Sales Support: Help customers navigate our lineup of new tools and offer Service Subscriptions / Packages. You don't need to be a sales man or a mechanic, but you should be excited to learn the specs. The Hub of Operations: Manage transactions using our Point of Sale (POS) software. You’ll handle cash, credit cards, and financing paperwork with accuracy and integrity. Showroom Pride: Keep the counter area and floor displays looking organized and professional.

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in customer service or a similar role.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, from greeting customers to handling phone inquiries.
  • Proven track record of using POS systems to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Strong skills in identifying and understanding customer needs to provide tailored solutions.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer diagrams and catalogs to accurately identify parts.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and assist customers.
  • Organizational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient front counter workspace at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Run the front counter: Greet customers, manage the phone lines, and handle the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Look up parts: Use manufacturer diagrams and catalogs to identify the right part for the job every time.
  • Greet and assist customers: Maintain a professional demeanor to ensure every customer is addressed immediately upon arrival.
  • Identify customer needs: Listen to equipment issues and ask technical questions to provide the correct fix.
  • Manage phone inquiries: Provide clear, concise information to callers to keep the front desk workflow moving.
  • Schedule appointments: Coordinate service drop-offs with precision to ensure minimal wait times and steady shop throughput.
  • Maintain the workspace: Keep the front counter area organized and clear of clutter to support fast, efficient service.
  • Collaborate with the team: Communicate with technicians and staff to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Stay informed on products: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our inventory and equipment to provide accurate information.
