About The Position
What started as a family business in a small, two-story building at 219 S. Ochoa in 1958 now includes multiple sites, a distribution center, and a customer service center, with goals of further expansion in the near future. What we are looking for A highly motivated individual who provides outstanding customer service and receives payment in the form of cash, checks, and credit cards from customers and/or employees in exchange for goods or services. Maintain accurate cash control over the register drawer. Manage returns and refunds as necessary.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a friendly demeanor when working under pressure.
- Working knowledge of payment methods.
- Proficiency with high volumes of cash.
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of cashiering experience
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greets customers in a courteous and professional manner, by name when possible.
- Operates cash register and scans merchandise accurately and in a timely manner.
- Receives payment from customers and/or employees; accurately issues change as needed; issues receipts.
- Refunds cash or issues credit to customers for returned merchandise.
- Reconciles cash register tape with cash and receipts on hand at end of shift.
- Maintains assigned aisles on assigned days.
- Maintains displays in surrounding area neatly organized when needed.
- Maintains work area clean and disinfected.
- Follows all policies and procedures for card, check, and cash payments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management or supervisors.
