About The Position
As a Cashier at Meijer, you will be responsible for creating positive customer experiences by providing efficient and effective service in the checkout lane. This role involves utilizing technology to complete tasks, handling transactions and money responsibly, maintaining accuracy of point of sale purchases, and engaging with customers in a friendly and outgoing manner to build trust and encourage return visits. You will also be expected to handle customer questions appropriately.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually
- Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology
- Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary
- Desire to work with customers
- Good verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Friendly outgoing attitude
- Ability to operate cashier register system
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer experience preferred but not required
