About The Position
The Cashier position at Redner's Warehouse Market is a vital role within the Front End department, reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager or Bookkeeper. The primary responsibility of the Cashier is to operate the cash register and check-stand efficiently and courteously, ensuring compliance with all front-end procedures and company policies. This role is essential in maintaining customer satisfaction by providing prompt and courteous service to all customers. As a Cashier, you will be expected to scan grocery orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all items are processed correctly. You will need to identify departments and modifiers that do not scan and utilize effective scanning and bagging techniques to maximize efficiency while adhering to customer requests. Additionally, you will be responsible for counting your cash drawer before your shift begins and keeping it secure at all times. Handling various payment methods accurately and complying with company policies regarding accountability and cash control is crucial. You will also need to follow void procedures correctly and identify produce items by entering their appropriate lookup code numbers. Security is a significant aspect of this role, as you will be required to enforce policies related to shoplifting, associate purchases, and other security measures. Familiarity with store supply procedures and knowledge of weekly ads and promotional items will also be beneficial. Providing high standards of customer service is paramount, which includes greeting and thanking customers appropriately. You will also assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the front end area and may be required to help stock shelves or face the store when necessary.
