As a Cashier at Food City, you will provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, ensuring a smooth check-out experience. You will be responsible for scanning and ringing customer orders according to company policy, maintaining productivity standards, and ensuring all items are credited to the correct department. You will also handle all funds taken for each transaction and assist with bagging groceries. Keeping your work station and surrounding area neat and clean is essential, as is following all state and local laws regarding beer and wine sales, as well as federal laws regarding WIC handling. You will need to be familiar with coupon handling procedures and follow company policies for various payment methods. Additional responsibilities include taking weekly produce tests, ensuring all not-on-file items are recorded, and assisting with light stocking duties.
