Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, and SNAP EBT.
• Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages, ensuring honest and effective loss control.
• Understand and follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay informed about current, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report any issues to the appropriate manager.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions and providing assistance.
