About The Position

Join our dedicated culinary team in delivering safe, nourishing, and high-quality meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced hospital environment. As a Cashier/Server, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring exceptional service and sanitation standards while supporting the health and well-being of our community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six (6) months previous experience working with the public in a customer service role
  • Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures, including various types of preparation and related routines
  • Ability to write notes and brief instructions using correct spelling and grammar
  • Commitment to delivering friendly and efficient customer service
  • Ability to speak clearly and present information orally
  • Ability to speak, read, understand and write English
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment and perform a variety of repetitive tasks
  • Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparations and serving
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Understanding of basic math
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift heavy items and stand for long periods
  • Flexibility, including a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and responsible food handling standards
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handler Card

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in food service or healthcare setting a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operates cash register with an accuracy of 99.85% (plus or minus).
  • Sets up appropriate cashier bank.
  • Documents cash received and charges made.
  • Reviews menus and assembles all items needed for preparation.
  • Maintains equipment and cooking area. Follows kitchen opening/closing procedures.
  • Handles food and equipment in accordance with sanitation and safety practices.
  • Stocking refrigerators with beverages, condiments etc.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, polishing general work areas, this includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, throwing trash and washing dishes.
  • Check and record wash / rinse temperatures.
  • Wash any items that are soiled and dirty.
  • All washable equipment must air dry on racks / free of water. Follow procedure of never touching dirty equipment before touching clean equipment without washing hands first.
  • Sort and stack clean equipment.
  • Prepare and gather items needed for meal service.
  • Provides exceptional service to all guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
