About The Position

The purpose of the cashier position is to maintain excellent customer service while taking and placing orders for guest in an efficient and timely manner. It is important for the cashier position to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the storefront, offer knowledgeable information to the guests, and ensure all products are stocked for service. The Cashier will also use cash registers and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.

Requirements

Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
Ability to read, write, speak and communicate in basic English preferred.
Customer service experience preferred
Detail oriented and thorough
Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
Ability to listen attentively in a busy environment
Time Management skills to ensure order accuracy
Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners
Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds

Ability to understand chits in order to run expo in the absence of management
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to bend, reach, squat, and stretch while handling merchandise, stocking, or assisting customers
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Indoor and/or outdoor environment
Exposure to slippery surfaces and stairs depending on location
Exposure to extreme heat and cold depending on season and location
Potential exposure to naturally occurring environmental factors such as wind, rain, red tide, etc.
Use of cleaning chemicals (proper PPE provided)

Responsibilities

Greet each customer in a welcoming and friendly manner
Be knowledgeable of menu and products for sale
Accurately take food and drink orders for guests
Use POS system to place orders for guests
Prepare to-go orders quickly and efficiently
Fills orders for ice cream treats
Process returns and exchanges according to store policy
Place menu displays accordingly before shift
Stock all items needed for shift
Make iced tea and check/replace soda bibs at the beginning of shift
Fill and maintain sanitizer buckets
Appropriately handle money by following the company policy at beginning and end of shift
Complete end of shift cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces and taking out trash
Complete monthly inventory
Fill out “end of day” reports
All other duties as assigned
