About The Position

The position is within the Business Office and involves facilitating the preparation of accurate and timely financial information. The role includes managing the house bank and station banks, as well as overseeing daily bank deposits. The employee will act as a resource and advisor to the operations staff regarding cash, credit card, and gift card processes, and will work closely with management and department supervisors to maintain cashiering efficiency.

Requirements

  • Certification Required: previous cash handling experience.
  • A well-rounded knowledge of PC hardware and applications, including management information and enterprise systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of the resort leadership team.
  • A team player comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal operation.
  • Flexibility in schedule due to the seasonal nature of the job.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solution-oriented suggestions.
  • Knowledge of resort offerings and guest services.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource and advisor to the operations staff to answer cash, credit card, and gift card questions and suggest improvements to existing processes.
  • Manage the house bank.
  • Count daily cashier station banks and deposits.
  • Make daily bank deposits.
  • Make recommendations regarding policy and procedures as part of the resort leadership team.
  • Work with existing staff in accounting concepts necessary for them to properly perform their assigned tasks.
  • Perform ongoing review of internal control systems to assure accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor departmental operations and recommend changes that promote efficiency, profitability, and a higher level of customer service.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for submission to ski operations management and the parent company.
  • Assist the General Manager in reporting inventory as needed.
  • Make recommendations for standardizing the inventory system to facilitate timely and accurate inventory reporting.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the General Manager.
