We’re looking for our next friendly, detail-oriented, and positive Cashier (Cajera) to join our fast-casual taqueria team. The Cajera isn’t just any cashier; you’re the face of Felipe’s, delivering exceptional guest service with a warm smile and stellar attention to detail. Here’s what your day might look like: Nailing Guest Interactions: Suggest chips, guac, drinks, or desserts to complete orders, answer menu questions (ingredients, prices, portions, diets), and finalize perfectly packed orders. Owning the Till: Keep your cash drawer accurate, organized, and balanced at the end of every shift. Mastering the Menu: Know each dish inside and out to answer guest questions like a true pro. Efficiently Completing Orders: Enter orders in the POS system, collect payments seamlessly, and deliver quick throughput. Collaborating with the Team: Communicate with the burrero staff and be a team player when it comes to setting up, stocking, and breaking down the burrito line. You’re also the go-to for guest inquiries about Felipe’s (like catering and events), ensuring every guest interaction is positive. For more than 19 years, Felipe’s has brought small-batch, made-from-scratch Mexican food and hand-squeezed key-lime margaritas to New Orleans and Southwest Florida. Our philosophy is simple yet delicious, and it all starts with our team.

Requirements

  • A friendly, people-person with great communication skills and passion for guest service
  • A problem-solver who can answer basic questions confidently or redirect to the Manager on Duty (MOD) when needed
  • Knowledge of safe food handling procedures (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Suggest chips, guac, drinks, or desserts to complete orders
  • Answer menu questions (ingredients, prices, portions, diets)
  • Finalize perfectly packed orders
  • Keep your cash drawer accurate, organized, and balanced at the end of every shift
  • Know each dish inside and out to answer guest questions
  • Enter orders in the POS system

  • Portion toppings like chips, guac, salsa, and salad dressings

  • Answer guest inquiries about Felipe’s (like catering and events)
