About The Position

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a front-end/cashier department in a grocery store environment.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job including standing, kneeling, and lifting 20-50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong team-building and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the cashier department including profitability and guest assistance.
  • Provide exceptional shopping experiences by responding to guest needs and being a subject matter expert.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding transactions and documentation.
  • Maintain possession of the register key and manage all transactions requiring key holder involvement.
  • Communicate issues to store management in a timely manner.
  • Train and supervise front-end associates on policies and procedures.
  • Schedule staff to ensure proper coverage at the front end.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe front-end area.
  • Handle returns and credits according to company procedures.
  • Drive guest engagement programs to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Exhibit professionalism in handling guest relations and service recovery.
  • Direct and supervise front-end activities including monitoring guest traffic and service levels.
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring of department/store associates.
  • Monitor overall department performance and communicate necessary employment status changes.
