About The Position

Supervise the cashiering unit by holding regular staff meetings and providing feedback. Audit cash reports and prepare the University's daily bank deposits. Run required jobs, perform testing. Analyze, research and post adjustments and/or errors. Post contracts to students accounts. Assist with training departments. Update desk manuals for all cashiering procedures by drafting modifications to the manual and participate in special projects as assigned by the supervisor. Provide accurate information to students/parents and other departments via counter/phone.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of cashiering practices and cash handling principles to include deposit preparation and reconciliation.
  • Considerable knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word or similar programs.
  • Basic knowledge of automated financial systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare financial reports and reconcile financial data.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze fiscal transactions for conformity with procedures and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people, and to meet and assist the public in a cordial and professional manner.
  • Extensive experience in accounting and/or cashiering to include bank deposits.
  • Considerable customer service experience.
  • Basic supervisory experience.
  • Some accounts receivable experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory, cashiering experience with deposits and accounts receivable experience in a higher education environment and familiar with State and Federal regulations.
  • Banner experience.
  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
