About The Position

The Cash Management Specialist I is responsible for processing and posting mortgage payments, researching payment discrepancies, and ensuring funds are accurately applied to customer accounts. This role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity of loan servicing operations and delivering timely and accurate payment application to support borrower satisfaction and compliance requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Processes payments, payoffs, returned item reversals, other system updates, and funds transfers while following company policies, servicing guidelines and applicable regulations. Reviews and resolves unapplied funds and other exception conditions. Balances transactions and takes other quality assurance steps to ensure the accuracy of work. Collaborates with internal departments including Customer Service, Escrow, and Loss Mitigation on matters that require cross-functional input. Handles inquiries regarding payment processing with professionalism and expertise. Identifies and escalates payment processing issues to appropriate team leaders or supervisors Supports department initiatives and participates in team meetings and training as needed, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in mortgage servicing, banking, or a related financial services role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing platforms and cashiering systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance related to mortgage servicing.
