About The Position

This is a merit hire position. The starting pay rate for this position is
$23.77. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dauphin
County Children & Youth Services is currently accepting applications for a
full-time position of Placement Caseworker 2. The Placement Caseworker 2
performs social service casework and case management for children, adolescents
and their families by conducting interviews, assessing needs, and case planning.
Specifically, he/she reviews and assesses requests for placement options and
refers children for placement services. The Placement Caseworker 2 reports
directly to the Placement Program Specialist.

Requirements

• Six months of experience as a CYS Caseworker 1.
• successful completion of the Social Casework Intern program.
• a bachelor's degree with a social welfare or Social Work major.
• a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, social work, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency.
• At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required.
• The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
• Applicants that have been interviewed in the last year need not apply.
