Many of our families live in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Newport News, and Hampton. We are proud to place children into stable and loving foster homes and work diligently to ensure a strong match between each child and foster family. As a Foster Care Caseworker Supervisor, you would provide clinical, administrative, and operational supervision to Foster Care Caseworkers while maintaining responsibility for ensuring high-quality case management services for children in care. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, safety, staff development, and positive outcomes for youth and families. As a leader within the Foster Care team, you will collaborate closely with internal leadership and external partners including courts, schools, families, and community agencies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Special education, or related field)
  • Minimum of three years of experience providing casework services to children and families
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of child welfare regulations, best practices, and documentation standards
  • Knowledge of growth and development in children, adolescents, and developmentally disabled youth

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
  • Previous Foster Care Case Worker experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to Foster Care Caseworkers, including regular supervision meetings, case consultations, and performance feedback
  • Ensure casework services are delivered in accordance with licensing standards, treatment plans, and organizational policies
  • Review and approve case documentation, service plans, and reports to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Serve as a resource and support to staff, children, and families throughout placement, treatment, and discharge processes
  • Assist with crisis intervention, on-call coverage, and problem-solving related to placements and family needs
  • Monitor caseloads, workload distribution, and service delivery to ensure quality outcomes and child safety
  • Support foster parents and staff to promote placement stability and positive outcomes
  • Act as a liaison with juvenile and domestic relations courts, schools, referring agencies, and community partners
  • Participate in program development, staff training, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
