JOB SUMMARY: The Bilingual Navigator Case Worker provides comprehensive, holistic support services to vulnerable immigrants, assisting them in identifying and accessing needed services. The position works with clients to assess needs, develop a plan, and operationalize the plan, leading to positive social outcomes.

Requirements

  • AA degree
  • Three (3) years’ experience providing services to vulnerable populations.
  • Driving is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong spoken communication skills in English and in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Performing individual casework through conducting needs assessments with clients and developing goal plans.
  • Making referrals to providers and assisting clients in connecting with providers for benefit programs, support services, and training and educational opportunities.
  • Collaborating with service providers and advocating for clients as needed.
  • Maintaining prompt and regular contact with clients.
  • Conducting monthly follow-up with clients for up to one year.
  • Collaborating with the Newcomer Network team in the provision of services by actively participating in team meetings.
  • Working with Immigration Legal Services staff to support clients in action plans.
  • Providing training and education to clients by hosting and teaching classes.
  • Preparing and organizing class materials and handouts.
  • Scheduling and administering pre-tests, post-tests, and assessments and accurately recording results.
  • Documenting attendance and participation according to agency protocols
  • Conducting outreach through cultivating and maintaining productive relationships with community contacts.
  • Attending community meetings and outreach events.
  • Supporting recruitment efforts for volunteers and targeted service providers.
  • Documenting outputs and outcomes by administering assessments and entering scores in the database.
  • Entering and maintaining client data into designated computer systems and maintaining client files.
  • Tracking all referrals and their outcomes.
  • Timely completing and submitting qualitative and quantitative reports as required.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
