The Case Manager at GEO Group is responsible for managing a caseload of participants, ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures, and facilitating evidence-based rehabilitation practices. This role involves conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and providing support to participants in their rehabilitation journey. The Case Manager will also represent the company in various capacities and report on program operations to meet criminal justice system requirements.

  • Manage a participant caseload using principles of the 'What Works' system.
  • Conduct risk/need assessments and create individual treatment plans for each assigned participant.
  • Meet regularly with participants and document their progress in the company database.
  • Conduct orientation meetings with new participants to explain program rules and regulations.
  • Verbally explain the participant contract to ensure understanding of responsibilities.
  • Install electronic monitoring equipment on new participants when necessary.
  • Set participant schedules and specify approved activities based on sentencing information.
  • Approve temporary schedule changes for approved activities.
  • Collect participant fees and notify the Program Manager of delinquent fees.
  • Monitor participant compliance with alcohol and/or drug counseling when required.
  • Report all program violations to the appropriate agency or official.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and relay technical issues to the Program Manager.
  • Review daily summaries and forward reports to the appropriate agency as required.
  • Represent the company in contacts with elected officials and public figures in the criminal justice system.
  • Facilitate evidence-based CBT programs and other life skills programs for participant groups each week.
  • Document participants' attendance, participation, and progress in the company database.
  • Conduct group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Work with participants to develop and implement a rehabilitative plan.
  • Testify in court regarding participants' compliance with court orders if necessary.
  • Screen participants at jail for entry into the program.
  • Provide face-to-face services to DRC participants and develop CMPs for them.
  • Develop and monitor participants' progress relative to their CMP throughout the program phases.
  • Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain progress notes in participant files and keep the AOR apprised of participants' progress.
  • Develop discharge and aftercare plans.
  • Learn and develop proficiency in Assistant Case Manager duties to provide backup when necessary.
  • Associate's degree in Arts or Sciences from an accredited institution or a high school diploma with four years of experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in case management or related field.
  • Experience working with the criminal justice population is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Active, valid driver's license required.
  • Basic knowledge of case management, referral services, and interventions in both group and individual modalities.
  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Good presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving ability and good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience working with the criminal justice population is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
