About The Position

The Case Manager at Lutheran Community Services Northwest plays a crucial role in supporting families involved with the ODHS Child Welfare system. This position focuses on providing hands-on parent coaching, education, and interventions to facilitate behavioral changes in families facing child safety issues. The Case Manager will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including ODHS case workers and community partners, to ensure the well-being of children and families.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Two years of experience working with high-risk families, including one year with sexually abused youth or domestic violence victims.
• At least two years of experience providing in-home services such as budgeting and household management.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a multicultural setting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with drug and alcohol dependence cases.
• Experience working with mentally/emotionally ill individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of in-home or community-based services, including parent education and mentoring.
• Assess parental capacities related to child safety and well-being.
• Identify and create goals in partnership with ODHS Child Welfare and clients.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively to document clients' progress.
• Provide supervised visits to children separated from parents to ease transitions.
• Prepare curriculum and teach parenting groups as needed.
• Work a flexible schedule to meet families' needs, including crisis consultations.
• Coordinate access and provision of services from multiple agencies.
• Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in delivering client services.
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
