About the role: The Case Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive case management services to children and families, with a focus on ensuring safety, achieving permanency, and promoting overall well-being. This role involves direct engagement with clients, caregivers, and community partners to coordinate services and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services-related field is required
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children and family services is preferred
  • Licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of families’ lived experiences, including factors such as trauma, poverty, developmental stages, gender, race, ethnicity, and language
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, caregivers, placement providers, the Department for Children and Families (DCF), colleagues, and other community partners
  • Communicate relevant and appropriate information with families and professionals in a timely manner
  • Provide in-home and community-based services including: Observation of caregiver-child interactions Maintenance and development of family and community connections Resource coordination On-call crisis intervention and safety planning Life skills training Transportation of clients Administration of drug screenings
  • Advocate for clients based on comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations. Advocacy efforts may include: Providing testimony in court Attending school and service coordination meetings Facilitating access to mental health and other support services
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation, including: Case notes and logs Comprehensive assessments Court reports and social histories
