Under the general supervision of Residential Program manager and/or Corps Officer, the Case Manager is responsible for implementing a strengths-based approach to their client caseload. The Case Manager must approach their caseload with a spirit that people can and do recover from the life traumas that have brought them to the program and that his/her commitment to a strengths-based approach to case management can significantly improve the client’s chances of success. The incumbent will conduct assessments and intake; establish a healthy, professional relationship and get to know the client to assist him/her in developing and implementing personal, family, educational, career, housing, financial and spiritual goals. He/she will identify personal and environmental strengths and consciously assist the client in exercising his/her own power, establishing their identity, making their own decisions and exercising their right to fail while charting the progress towards successful goal attainment. The incumbent serves as advocate for the client in order to acquire services and identify and participate in activities that will enable them to reach their outcomes. He/she will maintain client files and records in a manner consistent with a strengths-based approach and social work best practices.
