Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment.
  • Proficiency in basic filing principles.
  • Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to Family Workers in providing services to clients, including intake, engagement, assessment, referral, service plan development, advocacy, counseling, exit summaries, and follow-up.
  • Assist in monitoring and documenting client progress toward service plan goals.
  • Conduct home visits and other fieldwork, as required.
  • Provide general clerical support, including filing, faxing, typing, photocopying and sorting mail.
  • Answer telephones, take messages and direct calls to the appropriate parties.
  • Report to, and meet with, supervisor on a monthly basis.
  • Complete program reports on a monthly basis or more frequently as required.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned such as recruitment events or client activities.
  • Enter client and program data into computer databases and other tracking systems.
  • Gather information needed for proposals, reports, and program management including inventories, incident reports, fire drills, and supply list.
  • Ensure that attendance and all other data are submitted to the DYCD and BronxWorks Database (when available) in a timely fashion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
