Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, or Human Services field preferred.
  • Three years experience in human services preferred.
  • References that can depict level of interest in working with individuals in crisis situations.
  • Valid Drivers License Preferred
  • Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment checks

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial client orientations and on-going client case service plans.
  • Respond to the needs of shelter clients with both scheduled and unscheduled interactions.
  • Transport clients as necessary.
  • Perform assigned casework duties.
  • Make appropriate referrals and coordinate services with other service providers.
  • Complete necessary forms and documentation.
  • Complete daily documentation and communication for assigned clients.
  • Complete required annual training.
  • Maintain required certifications and proficiencies.
  • Attend meetings.
  • May coordinate and facilitate shelter and non-shelter programs as assigned.
  • Assist in keeping the shelter clean and orderly.
  • Serve as back up for crisis telephone calls, drop-in counseling sessions, shelter intakes and departures.
  • Care for and supervise children staying in shelter as assigned.
  • Assist with training needs of staff, interns and volunteers as assigned.
  • Ensure safety standards and infection control policies are followed.
