About The Position

Bethany for Children & Families is currently looking for a Case Manager to join our Therapeutic Recreation Program! The Case Manager is responsible for providing case management social services to children, youth, or families assigned to his/her caseload as per the Therapeutic Recreation Program plan. The Case Manager must be able to develop a supportive relationship with the clients assigned to his/her caseload and assist them in addressing and meeting the needs and goals documented in the specific program treatment plans. At the time of a crisis, the Case Manager is available and prepared to meet a family or a youth at various locations including the client’s home at times that may not comply with normal business hours.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field for a Case Manager I, a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field and five years experience for a Case Manager II, a Master’s degree in social work or a human services field and two years of experience for a Case Manager III, and a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field and ten years experience (or eight years with a Master’s degree) for a Case Manager IV.
  • Have the ability to fulfill all of the regulatory requirements for employees of Child Welfare Agencies as are prescribed in Illinois Administrative Rule and Procedure, including successfully completing the background check investigation clearances from the Sex Offender Registry, SACWIS, Illinois State Police, FBI, and Federal Office of the Inspector General check as well as certification as a driver of children by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Have the ability to provide own transportation in performing job requirements, including a valid driver’s license and acceptable insurance coverage.
  • Meet the eligibility requirements for a case management position as assigned by the contracting state department of Illinois.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule in response to program needs or caseload assignments.
  • Have sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences in the community.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Be committed to the agency’s vision, mission, philosophy, structure, and goals with an ability to work as part of a treatment team.
  • Be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Be able to carry car seats to and from the office and children’s home.
  • Be able to physically attend to young children and infants.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a service caseload as determined within the Therapeutic Recreation Program plan
  • Further the mission of the agency by actively participating in the accomplishment of the agency’s strategic plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
