Job Summary: The Special Education Case Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. This role also involves delivering targeted academic and behavioral interventions to support student success in inclusive and specialized settings. The position requires collaboration with educators, families, specialists, and administrators to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and to promote positive student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education - or eligible for certification
  • Knowledge of IDEA, ADA, Section 504, and other applicable laws
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and data management systems (e.g., IEP software)

Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and district/state guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students’ special education services.
  • Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings with families, general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all special education records and compliance tasks.
  • Monitor student progress and update goals, services, and accommodations as needed.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Partner with general education staff, related service providers, and families to develop and implement support plans.
  • Provide professional development and coaching to school staff on best practices for supporting students with disabilities.
  • Participate in problem-solving teams and data review meetings to identify students in need of intervention or special education evaluation.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with district and state reporting requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of evaluations, IEP reviews, progress reports, and other required documentation.
  • Support school-wide compliance with special education laws and regulations.
