About The Position

Observes child/youth and family interactions, provides teaching and training on skill development such as positive social interactions, management of emotions...etc. Works within and communicates with a treatment team of mental and emotional health personnel. Implements specific skills training activities as defined by the therapist. Under the guidance and direction of supervisor helps develop and facilitate group activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in psychology, social work, or behavioral science field or an equivalent degree OR a combination of at least three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience required to perform the job.
  • Must be a QMHA on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.

  • Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
  • Travels between sites and is required to drive.
  • Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to be approved for driving rights.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills a plus; Options pays a premium for employees who can conduct business in Spanish and provide certification of a language proficiency test approved by the Oregon Health Authority that meets a proficiency level of “High Intermediate”.
  • Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support, information and teaching, when appropriate, to parents, teachers, and caregivers that helps them to aid in skill development in all areas of the child/youth’s life.
  • Reports on any increase in concerning symptoms exhibited by child/youth and helps manages immediate crisis including danger to self or others, and implements crisis intervention plan if necessary.
  • Follows agency established departmental clinical protocols.
  • Works collaboratively with treatment team to meet client goals and maintains timely communication with clients, Options staff, and supervising therapist.
  • The majority of services are delivered in the community.
  • Manages time and caseload effectively.
