Essential duties include: Reviews insurance, governmental, accrediting agency and approved hospital healthcare management guideline standards to determine criteria concerning admission, treatment, appropriate level of care, and length of stay for patients. Performs utilization review functions of assigned cases. Compare inpatient medical records to established criteria and requests interdisciplinary feedback to determine appropriateness of treatment and level of care using pre-established criteria for intensity of service. Performs initial assessment for inpatient including: patient/family interviews to obtain full clinical/social knowledge of patient and identifies discharge planning needs. Participate in discharge planning and in-service programs related to the needs of the patient Great time management skills

Requirements

  • Current Texas Registered Nurse license
  • Great time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare administration preferred
  • 3 years of acute care clinical nursing experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year Case Management experience
  • Previous Inpatient Rehabilitation or Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
