The position involves interviewing potential participants to determine their eligibility and suitability for various programs sponsored by the Orange County Employment and Training Administration. The role includes approving, monitoring, and overseeing participants in various programs and activities, as well as providing assistance to participants, including referrals to other agencies, placement in training programs, and supportive services. The individual will participate in informational meetings with clients and/or agencies or service providers regarding training efforts and employment opportunities in the community. Additionally, the role requires counseling individual participants to motivate, reinforce, and develop a solid work ethic to achieve realistic occupational goals. Maintaining participant program records, updating individual service strategies, completing reports, and compiling statistics as required are also key responsibilities. The position may involve making training-related home/work site field visits to evaluate participant progress and utilizing common computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, email, and database software in performing work assignments.
