About The Position

The position involves initiating, completing, and following up on the admissions, assessment, and referral process for clients. The individual will communicate in a professional manner, obtain accurate information, and make appropriate placements in Behavioral Health Services (BHS) facilities as well as referrals into other treatment programs. Additionally, the role may include assignments to special projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• For Case Manager I: Registered and enrolled in a state-recognized chemical dependency counselor program or progress towards certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor, with six months' substance abuse experience.
• For Case Manager II: High school diploma or equivalency and required current certification number from a credentialing body (i.e. CCAPP, CADPT) after passing the California Certification exam, with two years supervised experience in substance abuse or a related field.
• Valid California driver's license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business.
• Adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination for job duties.
• Ability to sit at a desk, use a keyboard, write, and perform other physical job duties.
• Ability to move about the facility to observe clients and staff.
• Recovering individuals must have a minimum of two years clean, sober, and abstinent to be considered for employment.

• Bilingual abilities may be required within certain BHS programs.

Responsibilities
