Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree earned from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (conferred transcripts); OR 4 years as an Arizona Department of Child Safety Case Aide
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory 39 month driving record
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Work history, Central Registry and Public Record will be considered
  • Successfully complete the 22 weeks of in person classroom and field training program

Responsibilities

  • Work full-time, 40 hours a week on-site/in field; alternative work hours may be required
  • Evaluate incoming referrals and staffs with direct supervisor to select appropriate placement according to departmental and regional policies pertaining to child protective services
  • Evaluates incoming referrals and staffs with direct supervisor to schedule medical appointments, find immunization records, track medication, Phoenix Children's Hospital coordination, and coordinates staff trainings with providers to obtain medical information regarding prescription medication, diabetes and medication administration to the appropriate participants and documents medical information in Guardian.
  • Reviews work products and analyzes facts obtained by field DCS specialists. Provides input on cases.
  • Evaluates appropriateness of assessments and decisions made as well as intervention plans, case plans, progress, barriers, placement, services, visitation, etc. to ensure child safety and compliance with policy, procedures and statutes.
  • Responds/resolve problems and questions to address questions and concerns involving policy, procedures and issues related to specific cases.
