About The Position

The Case Management Intern supports the Social Services Department as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Under supervision, the intern assists with permanency planning preparation, visitation coordination, documentation, and youth engagement activities aligned with the Missouri Model. This internship provides hands-on exposure to juvenile justice casework, treatment team collaboration, court processes, and safe release planning within a congregate care setting.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Interest in working with justice-involved youth
  • Ability to engage respectfully with adolescents with behavioral and trauma histories

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating weekly parent/child visitation
  • Support preparation for monthly treatment team conferences and release planning meetings
  • Attend and observe treatment team meetings, school conferences, and IEP meetings
  • Shadow staff at criminal court proceedings when permitted
  • Enter case notes and relevant documentation into Connections under supervision
  • Assist in gathering collateral information for case planning
  • Support new intake documentation and transitional meeting preparation
  • Observe youth progress during school or program visits and document observations
  • Participate in supervision meetings to review case learning and professional development goals
  • Attend agency and external trainings (ACS/OCFS) when available
