About The Position

Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Case Assistant to join our St. Louis, Missouri office. This is a full-time, fully on-site position (five days per week). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys administrative and file-intensive work, thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, and takes pride in accuracy and organization. The Case Assistant will play a critical role in supporting attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants through effective document management and coordination.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Case Assistant, File Clerk, or in a similar administrative role preferred; legal environment experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage high-volume, file-intensive work with accuracy
  • Familiarity with document management systems (e.g.,iManage) and court filing systems is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for tracking and reporting)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Document Management & Organization: Retrieve, review, download, and organize documents from platforms such as iServe and other court record systems. Ensure all materials are properly saved and maintained within iManage and other firm systems.
  • File Maintenance: Maintain and organize both electronic and physical case files to ensure accuracy, security, and ease of access.
  • Document Processing & Distribution: Coordinate with legal assistants and other team members to process incoming materials such as depositions, medical records, and case-related documents. Review and incorporate materials into daily mail sheets and distribute promptly to appropriate team members.
  • Spreadsheet & Reporting Support: Create and maintain spreadsheets to track and summarize case-related data for attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.
  • Court Filings: Assist with electronic and manual filings in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Supports scheduling of meetings, depositions, and court appearances, and communicate updates to all relevant parties.
  • Correspondence: Draft and distribute routine correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Research Support: Conduct basic legal and factual research using court databases and other resources.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide general administrative and case-related support to attorneys and paralegals, contributing to the efficient progression of matters.
