About The Position

Join our Refugee Services team as a Case Aide , where every day offers the opportunity to support newly arriving families as they begin their journey toward stability, safety, and belonging in the United States. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate directly with a Case Manager to ensure each refugee household is welcomed with dignity and provided with essential services—from preparing their initial home setup and coordinating pre-arrival arrangements to assisting with critical registrations such as Social Security and public benefits. You’ll be a steady, compassionate presence as clients navigate these first important steps in their resettlement experience. Requirements

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural context.
• Ability and willingness to work with refugees
• Ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience towards persons served.
• Basic understanding of refugee services.
• Ability to work constructively with staff and clients.
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team in achieving common goals.
• Ability to identify needs and problems, and communicate them to case managers for follow up.
• Basic knowledge of or ability to learn to utilize various computer programs including Excel spreadsheet and graphic programs.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; reliable ongoing personal transportation suitable for safely transporting clients; current automobile registration and proof of automobile insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, community services preferred.
• One year experience in refugee related casework and community services preferred.
• Bi-lingual in Dari and English strongly preferred.
• Fluent in the native language of refugee clients preferred with the ability to translate in both written and verbal forms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Case Manager on all pre-arrival case activities, including housing arrangements and communications with US Ties and co-sponsors.
• Complete home safety inspections as required.
• Furnish homes with furniture and required supply items.
• Conduct initial airport reception and home safety orientation for arriving refugees.
• Complete applications for Social Security card, public benefits and other applicable registrations within the required time periods.
• Document all visits, case activity and all efforts to meet refugee needs as outlined by Operational Guidance.
• Provide transportation for all refugee services as required or needed, in compliance with applicable child safety laws.
