About The Position

We are looking for a part-time Case Aide to join our NYAP team! Seeking someone for our second and third shift. Compensation: $19/hr. Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor or designee, this position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families served. The Case Aide will provide transportation for Youth to and from the center as needed. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age and must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of work experience working in direct service with youth and families strongly preferred.
  • A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of persons served.
  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served.
  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
  • Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
  • Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable personal transportation.
  • Good driving record.
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
  • The person in this position needs to follow a team concept and support both agency goals and co-workers.
  • Employees must be able to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Completes transportation for child including transportation to an Emergency Resource Home, school, the center while awaiting more permanent placement.
  • In cases where an ERH is not available for placement, and no other option, youth will be transported by case aide to a hotel for the night and supervised by NYAP staff.
  • Document all activities in a timely manner, including logging mileage and hours.
  • Assist in scheduling and arranging transportation
  • Implement the visitation plan designed by the DCFS Caseworker/Supervisor and documented in the SACWIS Family Service Plan.
  • Provides active supervision, transportation, parent education, counseling, advocacy, and other professional services, meeting or exceeding established outcomes on behalf of persons served.
  • Completes all required training in a timely manner.
  • Utilize Children’s Welfare Best Practice Principles in decision-making.
  • Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.
  • Performs other duties as requested
