About The Position

A Case Aide is responsible to support the case planning team to ensure that every children under our care is living in a nurturing, safe and permanent family as quickly as possible.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with families and children
  • A valid NYS driver’s license in good standing
  • Willingness and ability to drive a car or van within the 5 boroughs of NYC, Long Island, counties north of the city and outside of New York State
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with families, coworkers, supervisors and other individuals
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to set professional boundaries

Responsibilities

  • Manage the reception area triaging all phone calls and messages to the appropriate party
  • Maintain the sign in and out sheet
  • Manage the office filing system to ensure orderly record retention
  • Create and maintain case records and intake packages
  • Enters data in the New York State Office of Children and Family Services’ CONNECTIONS electronic case record system
  • Coordinate mail and correspondence
  • Assist with processing applications for state identification, birth certificates, and social security cares for children and youth in foster care.
  • Visit foster families, youth and caregiver homes as needed
  • Supervise family visits as needed
  • Drive staff and clients( foster children, parents and foster parents). This may include out of state traveling
  • Support all functions that are in compliance with regulatory agencies including NYC Children’s Services (NYCCS), the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the local District of Social Services(LDSS)
  • Manage and organize case records for the unit which includes creating new case records and closing old case records
  • Perform all necessary activities assigned to further the agency’s mission
