Carting Supervisor- 1st shift

About The Position

We are looking to hire a supervisor for our carting area for our first shift. The Carting Supervisor is directly responsible for providing outstanding service by coordinating the accurate and timely preparation of carts to be assembled. Individual plans, directs, and coordinates all activities and schedules in the carting area on designated shift. Individual is responsible for the success of the department by maximizing the efficiency of the carting area within Jonti-Craft. Essential Functions: Supervises all employees in designated area on designated shift. Develops and implements daily execution processes throughout the department utilizing training, monitoring, and the evaluation of the department's employees. Organizes and maintains picking queues. Serves as a subject matter expert for the carting area. Moves people to the proper areas and identifies if employee breaks need to be split or shuts down lines when needed. Works with all supervisors to share employees when and where needed. Monitors and maintains runners of parts to be put away. Works closely with QA to make sure all parts are made to standard. Implements strategic and tactical objectives that support all carting goals. Reviews the production schedules with the Carting/Surface Manager to plan department operations. Reports any process or equipment problems. Works with the Carting/Surface Manager to make sure all areas are properly aligned. Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed. Strives for continuous improvement within the department. Troubleshoots daily issues and takes corrective actions to ensure standards and all carting needs are met. Supervises all carting and surface employees' to ensure key performance areas including productivity and quality are at or above targeted levels. Provides leadership and maintains a department-wide team attitude environment. Works with leads and employees in training, performance management, and motivation. Trains employees in use of handheld computers. Ensures that policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed. Corrects errors from employees filing rework requests and makes appropriate changes. Ensures rework is completed in a timely manner. Assists in daily work cell meetings. Identifies carting opportunities and develops improvement methods and procedures. Works with the Carting/Surface and Parts Manager to determine needs and or issues relating to designated area. Coordinates with opposing shifts any issues that may arise. Maintains and advises operations in headcount matters for the department based on production levels. Conducts discipline and investigations as needed. Orders and monitors the status of parts. Works on any re-work or urgent parts needs. Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job. Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Training and safety experience are highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Strong communication skills, especially between all shifts.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner.
  • Solid analytical abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Good knowledge of Fourth Shift or the ability to learn it.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
