About The Position

The Carrier Sales Representative for DTS Brokerage will be responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests. Develop a carrier coverage strategy and have full autonomy for supporting a customer's truckload & LTL coverage needs. Directly engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates (SMA) and Business Development Managers as needed to build a network of service providers that allows them the ability to foster an effective carrier network to support any and all freight transportation needs that a customer desires.

  • Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word. Clear understanding of SMS legacy system. Intermediate, required.
  • Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements. Intermediate, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Tenders accept/reject loads, creates loads, sets appointments, dispatches, tracks and traces loads, root cause problem solves issues, and resolves/communicates to carrier and/or customer as appropriate.
  • Identifies and Develops relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio through soliciting capacity.
  • Negotiate rates with transportation providers to ensure that margins are achieved for commission targets and account goals.

  • Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure proper all customer's needs are met in the agreed upon time period.
  • Continuous improvement in all segments of the business.
  • Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS.
  • Maintain a positive employee related climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level while having availability 24/7/365 for responsibilities.
