About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing transportation operations across carrier partners, 3PLs, dedicated fleet assets, and cross‑border activities to ensure reliable, cost‑effective, and compliant service. The position leads carrier performance management through structured governance, data‑driven scorecards, and Quarterly Business Reviews, while building strong strategic relationships to drive accountability and continuous improvement. It collaborates cross‑functionally with internal teams and external partners to resolve service issues, improve end-to-end logistics performance, and support procurement and network optimization initiatives. The role balances operational execution with strategic analysis, focusing on service reliability, cost‑to‑serve optimization, and alignment with broader transportation and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in transportation, carrier management, or logistics operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Proven track record in driving performance improvement and cost savings.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic carriers to assess performance, service levels, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain carrier scorecards tracking KPIs such as on-time delivery, claims ratio, capacity reliability, and cost performance.
  • Build strong relationships with carrier partners to ensure alignment with service expectations and compliance standards.
  • Monitor carrier compliance with contracts, safety regulations, and sustainability goals.
  • Work closely with 3PL on all performance and improvement areas.
  • Manage internal dedicated fleet operations (if applicable), including driver performance, asset utilization, and maintenance schedules.
  • Manage El Paso/Border Operations
  • Collaborate with dedicated fleet operations to ensure alignment with broader transportation strategy and service goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze transportation data to identify trends, root causes of service failures, and opportunities for corrective action.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Customer Service, Distribution, Procurement, Sales) to resolve service issues and improve end-to-end logistics performance.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies across carrier and dedicated fleet operations without compromising service quality.
  • Support transportation Procurement with insights from carrier performance and operational data.
  • Evaluate cost-to-serve models and recommend network optimization strategies.
