About The Position

This position is located in Wayne County at WorkSource East Training Facility in Goldsboro, NC. The primary purpose of this position is to prepare individuals with disabilities for employment. Job Duties include: - By teaching Carpentry/Woodworking curriculum, -Assist in facilitating internship opportunities, -Help with development of appropriate work habits, -Identify tasks and write training objectives for the Carpentry program, -Provide training designed to improve work-related behaviors and work skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services or business field such as human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution; OR Associate’s degree in a human services or business field (identified above) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience; OR High school or General Educational Development (GED) and four years of directly related work experience; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to do medium work such as exerting up to 50lbs of force occasionally, including walking, standing and climbing.
  • Must be able to have visual acuity and dexterity to operate machinery.
  • Must have the ability to hear at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and the ability to convey spoken instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of basic carpentry/woodworking techniques
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in a carpentry shop
  • Good customer service skills
