About The Position
Carpenters are responsible for safely executing all scenic elements, helping to mentor our Technical Theater Apprentices, helping to maintain a safe clean work area, load in and strike, and restoring the Barns at the end of the season.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in scenic construction / or woodworking.
- Minimum 1 year of scene shop or equivalent educational experience.
- Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain all scenery for two opera productions in the Barns.
- Provide production support for seasonal Opera productions.
- Assist in the mentorship of all Technical Theater Apprentices.
- Assist in the maintenance of the scene shop and Barns stage, including load in and strike of each production, and restoring the Barns at the end of the season.
