About The Position

This is a M-F daytime role on the west side of Indianapolis at our Tremont manufacturing facility (address is 413 N. Tremont St., Indianapolis, IN 46222). The position starts at $20 and includes full benefits (below). This role will also need to travel to the State of Georgia for 2-3 weeks of cross-training after hire. The Carpenter Manufacturing Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently assembling a variety of components and trailer units to meet production, quality, and contractual requirements. This role combines general manufacturing responsibilities with hands-on carpentry skills, including measuring, cutting, framing, and installing wood and composite materials used in trailer construction. The technician utilizes hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment to complete framing, assembly, finishing, painting, wiring, and related tasks across multiple project types. All work must align with established specifications, safety standards, and production timelines.

Requirements

• Industry Experience- Prior experience in carpentry, construction, manufacturing, or assembly required.
• Communication Skills- Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to recognize the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Reads, comprehends, and writes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in work-related documents
• Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Safety Awareness- Understands workplace safety procedures, safe equipment operation, and best practices to prevent injuries and maintain a hazard-free environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble product components and trailer subassemblies according to blueprints, work orders, or production guidelines.
• Perform carpentry-related tasks including measuring, cutting, framing, fastening, and finishing wood or composite materials for trailer floors, walls, roofs, and interiors.
• Construct and install structural elements such as framing, subflooring, paneling, cabinetry, and trim within trailer units.
• Use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and equipment, including saws, drills, nail guns, grinders, and sanders, to complete assigned tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and production documents to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
• Perform framing, grinding, finishing, painting, wiring, and other fabrication or assembly functions as needed for various contractual projects.
• Ensure proper alignment, fit, and structural integrity of all assembled components using carpentry and manufacturing best practices.
• Install insulation, panels, fixtures, and other interior components as part of trailer build-out.
• Conduct spot checks and visual inspections to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Identify and report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or material shortages to supervisors promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and general safety standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, including use of required PPE and adherence to machine/tool safety guidelines.
• Meet daily production goals and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Work collaboratively with team members and cross-functional departments (e.g., electrical, mechanical) to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with material handling, staging components, and preparing workstations as required.
